On 17 July 2026, the Hong Kong, China Wrestling Association (HKCWA) convened an official strategic dialogue at the Central Government Offices, bringing together senior representatives of the Hong Kong SAR Government and United World Wrestling (UWW) in a spirit of unity, cooperation, and shared responsibility.

This important engagement reflected a collective commitment to advancing the development of wrestling, while reinforcing the role of sport as a force for inclusion, education, and social cohesion. Wrestling, with its rich heritage and universal values, continues to serve as a bridge between generations and cultures.

The dialogue brought together key leaders from the sporting movement and public service, including HKCWA Chairman Mr. Masoud Niazi, Honorary Treasurer Ms. Emana Leung Hoi Ting, and Secretary Mr. Alvin Pao, alongside UWW Bureau Member and Chairman of the UWW Athletes’ Commission, Mr. Arsen Julfalakyan. They were joined by senior officials of the Hong Kong SAR Government, including Commissioner for Sports Mr. Tsoi Kin Pan, George, JP, Ms. Hui Kwok Ching, Crystal, and Mr. Chiu Man Leong, Alvin and Legislative Council Member Hon. Dennis Leung Tsz-wing, MH.

Discussions were guided by a shared vision to strengthen the foundations of wrestling in Hong Kong and to align its development with the broader international sporting movement.
