Athlete Selection and Appeal Mechanism Team selection mechanism

  1. The selection of athletes is based on the results of the WSAHKC present and past (if active players) in local or past international competitions as the basis for selection.
  2. Generally speaking, only those who meet one of the following criteria and who have not applied for withdrawal from the team or were ordered to withdraw from the team within the past year can participate in the selection
  3. Active youth team or junior team players
  4. The top three players in the annual council event
  5. Players who have registered for the annual association event but failed to make a pound
  6. The training team recruits athletes from affiliated clubs (only for those who are insufficient in number or level of investment)

Subject to preliminary evaluation the selection criteria are as follows:

1. Fighting performance of athletes

2. Athlete’s fitness status

3. Athletes’ attendance during the selection period

4. The coach of the training team evaluates all aspects of the athletes

5. Long-term benefits for the development of WSAHKC

6. Resources available to the association, etc.

The training team will take the above criteria into consideration as a whole. If you are successfully selected for the youth training team and junior training team, you must strictly abide by the training rules, which are as follows:

Attendance Requirements

1. All athletes are required to meet the minimum attendance rate of 100% per month. Those who do not meet the standard will be immediately terminated from training.

2. All athletes applying for leave must submit a leave form.

3. Arriving 5 minutes late for each training session will be regarded as late, and the latecomer will only be counted as 0.5 attendance rate, and arriving 30 minutes late will be regarded as absent.

Wrestler official leave and sick leave

1. Official wrestler leave (such as wrestling activities or intra-club competitions) and sick leave will not be considered as absences.

2. Before applying for official wrestler leave, you must fill in the leave application form and attach the supporting documents (for example: qualifying form or competition form, etc.) to the back page. You cannot apply for more than two days of official wrestler leave per month (you must apply in advance). To apply for sick leave, a doctor’s note must be attached to the back of the leave form.

3. Those who apply for official wrestler leave or sick leave, if they only fill in the leave form without attaching any supporting documents or lack the coach’s signature, the leave will be regarded as a general absence. 4. Each athlete shall keep a copy of the supporting documents for wrestler official leave and sick leave.

Termination of Training/Disciplinary Action

1. If an athlete commits any inappropriate or dishonest or misconduct that results in damage to the team or the Wrestling Sport Association Hong Kong, China, he/she will be disciplined or withdrawn from the team. For example, failing to comply with instructions, damaging the team’s image, engaging in wrestling-related activities with people other than the current registered members of the association, failing to apply to the association in writing to participate in competitions outside of Hong Kong, etc. good habits

1. Before each training session, please check the email for the latest email sent by the association.

2. If you are absent from training, please check with other athletes for any messages posted by the coach during training.

3. All leave application forms should be submitted to the chairman or vice-chairman of the training group during the training period.

4. If a team member fails to meet the standard in the test or fails to abide by the training rules, they will be invited to leave the team.

Appeal Mechanism

If an athlete has any objection to the selection result, he or she may request the technical committee to review the result in writing within seven days after the chairman or vice chairman announces the result. The rationale or data that the candidate athlete is superior. The final interpretation of the above provisions is subject to the decision of the Wrestling Sport Association Hong Kong, China.
